Please remember your “sundhedskort” (social security card) when you visit the library
The yellow Sundhedskort is your user card when visiting the library.
If you would like to be registered as a library user, please ask the library staff at the counter.
You must bring your Sundhedskort with you, when you register as a library user for the first time.

Are you younger than 14?
If you are younger than 14 you need a “Children’s library card” to borrow books.
Parents are responsible for items borrowed by their child, using this library card.
A parent must apply for their child by filling in a registration form, and show the child’s Sundhedskort to obtain a “Children’s library card”.

‘Pincode’
When registering as a user, you will be asked to choose a PIN (Personal identification number) consisting of 4 figures. This PIN opens a world of services - it is used when borrowing library items, when logging into your personal account on our website, on eReolen.dk and filmstriben.dk. You can also access the library in Munkebo outside our manned opening hours.

Visit the library on the internet - it is free!
Kertemindebibliotekerne offers several internet resources:
•    Read and listen to books on eReolen.dk, and its app for iOS and Android. eReolen offers books and audio books from both large and small publishers, that can be read both on- and offline, directly in your internet browser, or with the apps for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
•    You can also search for and reserve materials on the site Bibliotek.dk, which is the national site for all library materials in Denmark. The site can be translated to English by clicking the “English”- button in the lower right corner, and materials covering almost all languages, and ranging from different materials as books, films, ph.d. papers, video games and childrens books can be searched for and booked to your local library. All you have to do, is to register as a user with your personal e-mail address and a password of your own choice.

Loan period for library items:
The time span you can borrow items for is usually 1 month.

The loan period can be extended by renewal, although the loan can only be renewed twice, and then only if there aren’t other library users who have requested the material. The loan can also be renewed on our website, by asking at the library counter, or telephoning us during opening hours. Phone 65 15 11 10.

We help you to remember…
...to return your library items on time.

If you inform your local library of your e-mail address and /or your mobile phone number, we will send you a reminder by text message or e-mail, three days before the loan period ends. You will also receive a reminder when a library item you have requested is available to you.

Returning your borrowed library materials
Borrowed library materials can be returned in all three libraries in Kerteminde Kommune. You can also return Kerteminde Bibliotekerne’s materials in most public libraries in Denmark. The returned items will then be sent to Kerteminde Bibliotekerne - but be aware that the transport of the returned book can take up to a week. Borrowed materials are only registered as returned, when they are recieved at one of the three Kerteminde libraries.

How to request library items
You can request library materials at the library counter, or on our website. Materials that Kerteminde Bibliotekerne do not have, can usually be borrowed from other libraries. You will need your “CPR number” (social security number) and PIN to log on to our website and reserve materials. Make sure to “log off” when finished, if using a public computer to prevent misuse of your account.

When the book you requested has arrived…
You will receive a notice by  text message or E-mail. In the message there is a “reservation number” – remember to bring this with you to the library.
You will find your item on the reservation shelf, in it is a slip with the reservation number. Remember to check out the item out at the self-service counter before taking it home.

Borrower liability
You are responsible for what has been borrowed using your card. If the borrowed material is damaged or lost, the library will ask for compensation. The compensation is usually the price for replacing the material, including rebinding and license payment.
The compensation prices for DVD’s, CD-Rom’s and console games are high, since the libraries must also pay for a special lending license to lend out the materials.

Library liability
The library is not responsible for damage to your equipment caused by a library item.
Fees
Use of the Library is free - if the material is returned on time. If the loan period is exceeded, you will be charged a ‘late return fee’.
We offer a free reminder service, reminding you that the end of the loan period is near, by letter, text message or E-mail.

The fee is based on how many days the loan period is exceeded - NOT by the date of the received notice.
Return
1 day after return date:      10 kr. for children     20 kr. for adults
2 weeks after return date:      25 kr. for children     75 kr. for adults
4 weeks after return date:      50 kr. for children   125 kr. for adults

If the material is still not returned 6 weeks after the return date, a bill will be issued for replacement of the borrowed material, plus a fee of 100 kr. for children, and 230 kr. for adults.
If the material is then returned, only the fee must be paid.
If a bill is not paid within 30 days, the amount will be assigned for billing by Kerteminde Kommune. The bill must be paid, whether or not the material is returned afterwards. The ‘replacement fee’ cannot be refunded. The bill charged by Kerteminde Kommune follows the Kommune’s official procedures for bills, with eventual charges by the TAX office (SKAT).

Please show consideration for others!
There should be room for everyone to use the library.
Users who do not show respect for the libraries public space, materials or the staff’s instructions, will be expelled from the library.
Users owing the library 200 kroner or more, will also be banned from borrowing.

How to get free WiFi/Wireless access in the library
You can get an access code from the staff in all three libraries. If you bring your own laptop, Smartphone or tablet to Munkebo Bibliotek and Kerteminde Bibliotek– and access our wireless address “Hotspot-KTM” in your configurations, a browser-window will appear.
In the top of this window, you will find the two choices “Gæste-login” and “SMS”. When you enter SMS - you can enter your mobile phone number. Shortly after, a code will appear on your mobile phone, and you can enter it in the browser window - you now have free access for up to three hours. The free access may not be used in any unlawful way or to search for/use pornographic media or sending anonymous or threatening
e-mails.
